So another position is going to be opened, I would really like someone to help me plan this out. Since it is going to be open world, there is a lot more I need to plan ahead for. And I'm having hard time coming up with ideas. So yep, wanna help let me know.

Alright so after A LOT of consideration, I've decided to do a straight sequel to my previous game with this new one. Which means I want to keep the Mario/Megaman formula. I'm still building the engine from the ground up, so the physics should feel entirely different in some cases, which is good. This also will allow me to address a few problems I had with the previous game.

What this means is that for those of you making things for me, the amount of time you really have is going to be shortened, a lot. The reason I have for doing this is because I honestly can't see any way possible for the Metroid style of gameplay to work, not how I wanted it to anyways.

Plus, I've programmed adventure games in the past and they are MUCH more challenging to program.
Also, since I've decided to change this entirely, I will have to start the characters all over, since I had them built to play in an RPG style game. So I won't need any music, backgrounds or anything for a few days. However, I am going to need those of you who are testing to be ready.
It shouldn't be much longer before I have a tech demo ready for you guys to ravage.

I want you guys to break this tech demo. I mean do everything and anything you can to glitch the game. Whatever you can think of. And compile a list between yourselves so that I can address everything you can find. This is THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP IN GAME MAKING. I mean you all saw what happens when you don't have people to properly test a game. I want to avoid that at all costs.

Cloud, Alpha, I'm going to need that story finished within the next 1-2 weeks. As soon as you possibly can. These are some things you will need to incorporate into the story (I can't think of very many things actually.)

-I need at least 5 bosses.
-The mane six will still be seperated, they will be unlocked throughout the game.
-Try to find Bio's OC a place. If you can't, don't worry to much about it.

I still am needing someone to help plan features for the game. I'm not very creative, plus having another person to help build the initial game would add an entire new layer of things for the player to enjoy.

Anyways, sorry for the massive-ish post. And sorry if I'm coming off as an ass somehow. I want this game to surpass the previous in every aspect. Especially since I look for it to be released around the same time Fighting is Magic and all those other highly professional type games are going to be released.

I think that's all for now, if not I'll post more later. For now though, I have a ton of programming to do. (Oh goodie.)

EDIT: Thought of something else, anyone who wants to help design levels, please let me know. That is probably the biggest job I will have to do. It'd be great to split it up somehow.

A thought just occured to me. What name should I release this game under? Since it is very much a team effort, I don't want to use my developer name for a project we all have had a hoof in. Any ideas?

Plain and simple, just release it under Brony Awakening. That's what I figure. We don't have to create a whole new production name for something we all as a community worked on.

Actually, yes.

Although I probably won't begin making them in at least a month. Even if I'm on holiday as of now for a week, I need to spend this time finishing off an entire interface design which is due in very soon, and revising for an exam, can't forget an exam.

@ Topsy
Cutscenes will most likely be the last things put together. I'll probably program them as I build through the game, but I can use temporary graphics in place of the ones you'd be doing. So your have more than enough time to work on them. The story itself isn't even finished yet, so I doubt I'll be doing any cutscenes anytime soon.

@ Lexie

However you want to help. Pick something within your skill sets though, I don't feel much like teaching people anymore. I have enough on my plate as is without having to worry about someone elses stuff.

And of course you could always test along side Bio, Cloud, and Alpha. This would probably be the best thing for you to do. The more testers, the better. Aaaaaand you'd get to play the game before ANYONE else :D
You also would have a pretty big role in shaping the final product.
