Freight scoffed as she threw up a hoof.

"I zpeak not only of love, but in zpirit. You may not believe it, but zhere are poniez who ztrongly zupport you. You're ztory of how you have rizen up from zhe ashes in Zapphire's shadow to zhe leader of zhe Hurricane Clan iz vorthy of being in history books!"

Gold giggled as she patted Freight on the back, which was a little hard to do since the mare had risen to her hindlegs in her little speech. Freight landed back on her hooves, a look of triumph on her features. Gold giggled again.

"Please be careful with the praise Freight, you're making Lightning blush."

Freight simply smiled.

"Az you wish. Now, I believe you've come here for zomething other than zimply to chat?"

Gold nodded.

"Yeah, got some stuff I'm going to need you to move around. The possessions Stone and I own need to be moved out of the shop and taken to the mansion in Ponyville. That's where we live now. Um...."

Gold flushed a little as she rubbed her neck and looked over at Lightning.

"Didn't you want to move something? I...kinda forgot."

Lightning nodded, "Yeah, there's a pair of speakers at the store that needs to get moved to the mansion. Also, I, uh, haven't gone back to the Platinum compound but there are a tone of books I wanted back. Ruby would be-"

"Stopping again Iron Wing? No surprise there! None at all!"

Lightning turned around at the voice. There on the Main Street was a bunch of fresh looking recruits for the Royal Guard. Only, most of them appeared to be ostracizing one of their own with deep set glares. She gasped.

"This is the fourth day in a row foal! Can't keep pace? That's what happens when a mare tries to do a stallion's job!"

Lightning growled. Five Star. The trainer that made her life a living hell - including some more than inappropriate comments on the job. Had it not been for Brave Heart's watchful eye... physical abuse may have been the next step.

She flicked her gaze to the back of the pack. A mare - perhaps smaller than average for a mare - was keeled over, panting heavily. Her face was determined, but it seemed like she was nearly breaking under the pressure. Ponies in the street had stopped to watch the spectacle of which Five Star was more than happy to oblige.

"Tell me Cadet, are you good and ready to keep moving? Had enough time to relax?"

The mare snapped to attention, saluting with her wing. "There was no need to stop, Sir!"

Five Star growled. "Dragging down the group is unacceptable. We go at one pace and one pace only! Is that clear?!"

"Yes Sir!"

Five Star pushed her forward into the group. One of the other stallions caught her before she teetered over.

"No time to be a gentlecolt, Brimstone. Save that for leave time when she's in season!"

Lightning stepped out into the street.

"Excuse me, sir?" Brimstone said.

Five Star trotted forward, his horn lighting up with magic. It lifted the pegasus stallion into the air. "Is there a problem Brimstone?"

Brimstone caught a glance at Lightning. His eyes widened slightly before looking back at the trainer. "Yes, Sir!"

Five Star let him drop to the ground with a thud. "You sweet on her, Brimstone? You know that intimate contact with another recruit is strictly forbidden!"

Brimstone looked him right in the eye. "I know how not to treat a mare like hay."

Five Star snarled. "All of you cadets are haybales until you earn your title! If you can't handle it, just get out now. You can join Nightwind for discharge when we get back to base."

Nightwind stood firmly. "Lady Hurricane handled this routine and so will I."

Five Star got right into her face. "That mare only scathed through because she was coddled. She'd never make it on her own in a fair fight."

Lightning had enough. The air in the area seemed to ripple as Lightning walked steadily towards the group. Brimstone got the picture immediately and began to back off. Five Stat laughed and turned around. Genuine surprise flickered on his face.

"How nice. The lady in question is in attendance. Your filly foolers leave you for the day?"

Lightning pressed herself right up into his face and growled. As her hoof hit the ground, the pavement shattered. "You will show me respect when you address me, Five Star."

Five Star snarled. "Address me by rank, Private."

"I hold a higher rank than you now, Captain. Know your place, or Princess Luna will hear all of your commentary."

Five Star backed down. "You're too coddled by the Princess to understand the meaning of training. I am simply performing my duties. Where are yours?"

She eyed the group. Some of them were clearly unsure who to be more afraid of. Lightning looked at Gold before returning for the Captain. "Be glad I have enough patience to let you on your way. When you arrive to the castle, inform the princess that I would like both Brimstone and Nightwind to be given to my services."

Five Star began to laugh. "I knew you liked misfits."

Arcs of lightning sparked from her mane. Her eyes began to glow slightly but she managed to contain herself from lashing out. "Do not forget that misfits just saved this kingdom. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind."

The unicorn barked out a few orders to reform ranks. As he left the street, he intentionally shouldered her as he passed, forcing the two ponies that defied him harder than before. She watched them go and tried to calm herself. Ponies that had gathered began to whisper amongst themselves, but she ignored them and returned to the door.

"I apologize for the interruption, Miss Freight. Where was I?"

Freight was grinning.

"Zuch passion for the miztreated."

She pressed a hoof to her chest.

"If you fill out zhe proper papervork, I vill gladly help you move them."

Gold suddenly flew up and landed right in front Lightning.

"Lightning?"

She grinned.

"That. Was. Boss."

Gold fluttered in the air and hovered.

"Too bad restraint was preferred. I was actually close to introducing his head to 'Love', 'Tolerance', 'Fortified', and 'Hate'."

With each word, Gold swing a leg to indicate the horseshoe with that word engraved on it. She stopped and tapped a hoof on her chin.

"Hmm, if we get guards, does that mean we have to be more restrained with our sex life?"

She pouted.

"That wouldn't be very fun...."

Freight laughed and shook her head.

"Oh Gold, tenacious az alwayz."

Gold tilted her head at Freight.

"I wouldn't say I'm adhesive, more like allergic to having to change my love life in order to suit others needs...."

Freight tilted her head this time.

"Gold....you are a little more.....energetic now for zome reazon...."

Gold simply stared at Freight.

"I'm a little energized from seeing my marefriend tell a sexist guard that he can either pull his hoof out of his mouth and his head out of his ass or suffer the consequences. So excuse me for finding that rather hot."

The gold-maned pegasus leaned over to whisper into Lightning's ear.

"Very hot."

She landed on her hooves and straightened.

"So, we have an agreement?"

Freight smiled and nodded.

"As zoon az zhe proper papervork iz filled out, I can call Pancho and Long Haul and ve can start loading. Just let uz know when to start."

She scratched her neck.

"Ze Platinum compound vill be rather difficult if ve are not escorted properly. I'll have to ask zhat you accompany uz vhen we go, or ve'll have to either vait or risk getting thrown out on our azzes."

Freight waved a hoof.

"Vith Pancho and Long Haul, along vith my zister Dolly, ve are capable of being quick az, pardon ze exprezzion, lightning, but zhat von't help when zhey have a zpear pointed at our throatz."

Lightning nodded, a blush still very prominent on her face. "I'll have to work it out with Ruby. We need to catch up anyhow."

Lightning kissed the rim of Gold's ear and whispered, "Later."

She nuzzled Freight once again as her custom and smiled. "Thank you for helping us."

Freight nuzzled back, an honest smile on her face.

"It iz my pleazure. I zuppoze I'll zimply retrieve the papervork and then place a letter for my covorkers."

Freight turned and nuzzled Gold, who returned it, and quickly trotted into her home, coming back a minute later with a pile of papers balancing on her head. She gave them to Lightning.

"Iz zimple az alwayz: fill out ze correct zpaces, and comeback vhen you're ready for uz."

She bowed her head at them both, said her goodbyes, and then trotted back into her home, shutting the door.

Gold was giving a simple smile at Lightning.

"Well...."

She waved a hoof towards the street.

"Shall we go....?"

Lightning and Gold sat in the small Italian place, the smell of fresh pasta permeating every wall, chair and table. It was as if they were in a completely different world - across the ocean in a small restaurant.

She crossed her hooves on the table, popping the last piece of bread in her mouth. The tang of the olive oil and moist bread brought a huge smile to her face.

"Told you," she said happily. "Our order isn't going to last us the night."

One of the servers - a charming young colt with a pink and purple mane and a cream color coat - came over to the table with a fresh pitcher of water. He smiled and topped off their glasses before going to another table.

Gold smiled and dipped the last of her breadstick in some sauce, popping it into her mouth and grinning at the flavor. The softness of the bread and the tang of the sauce was a combination made only by the goddesses. She chewed, swallowed, and sighed, leaning back in her seat and patting her stomach.

"I'll have to write this place down in a list of restaurants to visit again, right next to 'Pop's Diner'. Guy's hilarious, and he has a wrestler as an assistant."

She stretched out and groaned in bliss, ending it by laying her head on her hooves on the table.

"I could fall asleep now...."

"Don't fall asleep yet." Lightning pulled out the last of the paperwork for moving the speakers from the store. She dragged the quill along the line, signing her name to the paper. "I wanted those speakers moved in for tomorrow night. I'll see if Stone can't set then up for us while we're in Cloudsdale. Hopefully she might be able to do that for us."

Almost on cue, the elder stallion trotted out into the floor with a big smile on his face. He was big, with a yellow coat and a brown-red mane. Stripes of grey and white seemed to just be creeping into his mane. But he was strong, practically barreling his way over to the table with their food.

"What a pleasure it is to have you dine with us, my Lady! Hopefully the rest of your loves feel like the one you have with you today, eh?" He gave a huge laugh and clapped his strong hooves around them both. "You give so much confidence to my daughter for being so brave. My doors are always open if you need your bellies filled."

Lightning smiled and placed a smaller bag of bits in his hooves. "I appreciate that, Mr. Angel Mane."

He laughed heartily and slung their food over Lightning's back. She stood and adjusted the weight a little better. "Please, please, Angel is just fine."

"Thanks again. I'm sure we'll be back."

He gave a wave and wiped his hooves on a towel slung over his back. They trotted down the street towards Freight's home.

Gold felt like she was flying, evidence being that she had her wings spread as though she was going to fly. She had a blissful look in her face as she walked beside Lightning.

"Nothing like hot fresh spaghetti with breadsticks and lots of tomato sauce to make it feel as though everything is right in the world....I'll have to put the restaurant's address down for later. Next time, I'm taking us to Pop's Diner. You'll love Pops. If you're in a rut, feeling sad, or just ain't happy, he'll be the one to give you the right advice. In fact, Angel Mane reminds me a little of him, except he doesn't have an apron and won't give a mad laugh while cooking a strange recipe experiment."

She fluttered in the air now, doing a small loop-de-loop and landing on her hooves again.

They were close to Freight's house.

"Alright, we'll likely have to go with them in order to point the area out, and I'm sure I can pay them to move Stone's and I's belongings once I mark them down and point out what to move."

She noticed the other ponies standing around the moving carriage. Two stallions and a mare. She grinned and walked faster, gaining the attention of the stallion closest to her. He was an earth pony that was dark brown with a short and neatly combed-back mane and a short tail. He wore a well-worn black desperado hat with a braid wrapped around it. Like his namesake, he wore a worn black and white poncho that ended halfway across his back. His cutie mark was a folded poncho. He grinned and bumped his head, his hat landing on his back.

"Oi, Gold! Oro! Where have you been, amigo? We move all that electronic basura for ya, and then you up and dissapear like nothing. Then you come back and, como era de esperar, we're hearing how you not only are with SeƱora Hurricane, but Stone, Mist, and a griffon! How do you do, you seductora?!"

Gold smiled.

"Happy to see you too Poncho."

The stallion realized what he just said and flushed, rubbing his neck and pulling his hat over his eyes. Gold giggled and patted him on the foreleg, lifting his hoof with her own.

"The key to my powers is to suddenly have a hidden heir enter your shop, tell her the time, have a few strange encounters, nearly die from hypothermia, give her a big kiss to show you're thankful, save her from her bitch un-mother, let her give you a big kiss out of thanks and wanting to join your relationship, then let everything take off from there."

Poncho stared at her.

"You have a notepad and pen?"

Gold laughed and smacked his shoulder.

"Always a kidder..."

She turned his head towards Lightning.

"That is my lover. Feel her grace."

She hugged his head against her chest, squeezing it until his brown eyes began to cross.

"Feeeelllll iiiitttt."

She shook him a little before grinning and letting go.

"But yeah, feel free to say hi. I'm gonna go see Long Haul now."

Leaving Poncho behind, she was spotted by the other stallion. He was a muscular unicorn with a dark grey coat and a messy emerald green mane and tail, the mane having a scrunchie pulling it into a loose ponytail. He even had a green goatee. A moving carriage was his cutie mark. His light green eyes lit up when seeing Gold. Grinning he walked over.

"Hey Hauler, how have you been?"

He smiled and spoke.

"Pretty gooood."

She asked again.

"And how's the wife doing?"

He grinned wider.

"She's doin' gooood too. We're expecting a foal."

Gold smiled and patted him on the shoulder.

"Congratulations! Tell Abstract that she has my love and happiness."

Long Haul raised a brow.

"I hope you're not trying to pull my wife into your herd."

Gold blushed and waved a hoof with a giggle.

"She may have a nice butt, but you two are made for each other. A match that not even the gods could have thought of. Just tell her that I say hi and all that jazz."

He grinned.

"Will do. I suppose I should save your marefriend from Poncho before he starts to crack jokes."

He walked over to Poncho and Lightning. Gold sighed and finally made her way over to the last pony. A mare that had a light red coat and a blue mane and tail with black streaks through them was standing by the moving carriage, her horn glowing as she wrote on a clipboard. Her cutie mark was a blue hoofcart, or simply, a blue dolly. Her eyes glittered pink color. She looked over at Gold and smiled, waving a hoof.

Gold grinned back.

"Hey Dolly, how are ya?"

She simply smiled while raising a brow. Gold flushed and cleared her throat, waving a hoof for Dolly to follow her, which she did. As they got over to Lightning, Gold spoke again.

"How's the, uh, throat doing?"

Dolly made a 'so-so' motion with her hoof. Gold nodded.

"Any permanent damage?"

Dolly shook her head and gave a reassuring smile. Gold nodded in understanding again.

"As long as you're okay...."

Dolly leaned over and nuzzled Gold in reassurance. Gold smiled.

"Alright. Well, now lets introduce you to Lightning..."

Gold now stood beside her marefriend, grinning.

"Well Lightning, these are the cool ponies that'll be helping us. Don't let their personalities fool you, they are the best damn movers in Canterlot."

Lightning grinned and wiggled an eyebrow. "I'll go easy on them. For now."

After letting the joke sink in she waved a hoof as if to dismiss any contrary interpretation. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I really appreciate the help on such short notice."

She looked at the empty carriage for a moment before turning to the store. She had absolutely no idea if they would be able to get it all in one trip, nor how it would be able to handle all of the stuff in the store.

"So, do we uh, ride in the carriage with you three?" She glanced at Gold for clarification. "Or do we just meet you where we need to go?"

Poncho and Long Haul started strapping themselves into the harnesses of the carriage, Freight and Dolly making their way to the back. Freight spoke up.

"We had zhe carriage enchanted a long time ago. It reducez zhe weight of cargo. Juzt hop in vith uz...""

Poncho and Long Haul nodded at each other and started walking, the carriage starting forward with a shuffle and small clatter. Freight and Dolly hopped into the back of the cargo carriage, the rear door opened as they sat on the edge.

Gold flapped her wings and landed in the carriage, the carrier barely effected. Gold help out a hoof as they pulled into the main street.

"Come on Lightning. Hop on."

Lightning nodded. She hopped into the air, sailing perfectly into the carriage as it rounded the corner. With her wings, she dusted her sides off before tucking them against her.

"When we get into Ponyville, I can fly ahead and figure out where we're going to put all this stuff," Lightning added. She left her bags with the food in a safe spot on the carriage and lay down against the side. "Wake me when we get there?"

Gold nodded with a smile and nuzzled her.

"Yeah. We'll let you know."

After a while of traveling, with Poncho swearing at a few carriages in his language, they soon arrived at the electric store, Poncho, Long Haul, Freight, and Dolly moving from the carrier and towards the shop. Once they entered, Gold turned to face them.

"I'm sorry that I didn't have time to mark things down, but we're in a bit of a hurry. The furniture upstairs can wait until we get this floor cleared. The electrical equipment and inventory will be moved by Fancy Pants into a small storage warehouse until I can get a shop bought down in Ponyville. We leave all this here for him. Those speakers over there on the table are going with us. The register and some of the banners and signs too. Tables come too. The rest stays for later."

They all nodded and started moving, pushing things aside in order to get to their destinations. They moved with such fluid velocity that Gold found herself simply watching them move. It was about half an hour until they were done, waiting for the next orders.

Gold grinned and led them upstairs. She pointed around with a hoof.

"Anything with purple tape on it goes with us. The rest we can pick up later."

She grinned.

"The bed goes first."

Dolly and Freight raised a brow with knowing smiles as Poncho and Long Haul simply smirked. Gold shook her head with a wry smile.

"Minds out of the gutter. We got work."

It took ten minutes to get the bed maneuvered down the steps and onto the carrier, where it was pushed to the far back. Gold gently carried Lightning over to the bed and laid her in it, covering her with the blanket. She pecked her on the cheek and went back to work.

It took them a few hours until the larger pieces of furniture were loaded and carrier was set for long-distance travel. Poncho and Long Haul hooked themselves into the carriage while Freight and Dolly tied everything down and double-checked everything. They closed the large door then opened the hidden windows on the sides and on the forward wall of the carriage. Freight lifted a hidden panel on the floor and pulled out a lantern, lighting it and hanging it in the center of the carriage.

Gold looked up at the lantern.

"Is that safe?"

Freight rolled her eyes.

"Yez it iz. Thickened glazz and ztronger metal."

Gold nodded before curling up in the bed, wanting to nap. Freight took a seat on a recliner while Dolly laid down on a small couch. Gold giggled.

"I guess we could all use a rest? It's a good distance to Ponyville, especially since Poncho and Long Haul will have to pace themselves."

Dolly nodded and closed her eyes, a soft snore following. Freight smiled with her eyes half-lidded.

"Let'z juzt.....rest for a moment....."

She leaned back into the recliner, falling asleep. Gold giggled again before pulling herself under the covers, cuddling against Lightning.

It would be a long trip, but she didn't mind.

Lightning screamed as she sat bolt upright in the bed. The covers nearly flopped on the floor as she shut her mouth. Her heart was pounding out of her chest as she ran two sweaty hooves through her mane.

Just across from her Freight and Dolly seemed to launch from their places as the cart stopped short. Lightning panted heavily, the sounds of the world around her muffled and soft.

She could tell that someone was saying something - Gold was trying to get her attention for sure. The best she could do was wave a hoof to show them that she was alright.

"I'm alright, I'm alright. Give me a minute," she said. Too bad she couldn't make her own words out.

It took a few moments for her hearing to come back in full force. Her breathing had slowed to a more normal rate.

"Sorry about that. Bad dream is all."

Gold raised a brow as the back of the carriage opened, showing bright sunshine into the carrier as Poncho and Long Haul hopped in. Long Haul spoke.

"Is everything alright?! We heard screaming! It was like someone screaming bloody murder!"

Poncho nodded as he looked around the cart, looking for any 'unwanted' passengers. Gold was by Lightning's side, rubbing her back with hoof while Dolly moved to sit next to them. Freight was simply trying to control her heartrate. Gold was looking at Lightning in concern, memories of that horrible night terror the lightning pegasus had.

"Are you sure you're alright? You've been having a lot of nightmares lately...."

She looked Lightning in the eyes.

"I'll believe that you're alright, Lightning, but...if something is wrong, you'll tell me, right? I don't want you to be scared or sad. I especially don't want you to fell as though Stone, Mist, Fas, and I would think differently of you if something is wrong... "

Lightning shook her head quickly. She didn't want Gold to feel burdened by her problems. Especially since...

Goddesses, the screaming. The horrible pleading the stallion made as he begged to be free of his head. Goading her into-

Lightning pressed her hoof lightly against Gold. "I'll be ok. I'm working on it. It's just... This one was different."

That stallion deserved death.

Lightning tried to shake the thought of Brass Ring's face, but it was still bringing cold satisfaction to her psyche. How the hell did she forget about that incident in the first place?

Lightning rose from the bed and kissed Gold's cheek. She threw on her saddlebags and kicked off. "I'll meet you at home. I have a stop I need to make."

With that she smiled and took off into Ponyville proper. There was a letter she needed to send.

Gold watched her leave, her eyes focused. She shook her head. 'I hope she isn't turning the way I did after therapy. It would only get worse...' Meanwhile, Dolly, Freight, Long Haul, and Poncho went back to what they were originally doing.

It would take them almost half an hour to get to the mansion with directions from Gold. The workers outside had to move out of the way to make room for the moving carriage. They pulled into the front area of the home. Long Haul and Poncho unhitched themselves while Freight and Dolly moved over. They waited for direction.

Gold waved a hoof.

"Okay, for now, I want everything off the carriage and out front. When Lightning gets back, we can find places to put them."

They nodded and started pulling furniture out. Gold looked over at Ponyville, a frown on her face.

'.....Will it all come down soon? Will the nightmares make her hurt more? I hate waiting for answers....'

She looked over at a darker shade in the sky. The clouds were bunching up, making it look like the day would become overcast.

'Why is nature always pushing for dramatic effect?'

Lightning arrived back at the mansion as they were pulling the bed out of the carriage. Somehow, the food was still warm-ish. But it was clear it needed to be warmed up.

She waved to Gold as she trotted into her kitchen. A fully equipped kitchen.

Whatever heating instructions Angel Mane had left, she followed to the letter, doing her best to preserve the taste and the texture of the dishes she wanted them to try. It was an hour of painstaking work. But as she tasted it, she was happy with the results.

"Angel Mane, you probably know how to make leftovers taste fresh," she mused.

Gold grinned as she followed Lightning, went into the kitchen, and looked at the food, already feeling hungry again. But her grin was a little less than normal. She felt the held back emotion in Lightning. She sighed internally. Lightning would tell them eventually.

Gold heard the flap of wings and saw Fas fly in through an open window, landing beside them. She licked her beak at the food.

"Smells good!"

Gold looked over and spoke to Fas.

"Where's Stone and Mist?"

Fas waved a hand dismissively.

"Eh, they went shopping for stuff. Nice town. Not as many stares, and at least they make them discreet. No angry muttering yet, though a lot of mares giggle and smile when they see any of us. Makes me feel a little paranoid...."

She flushed and rubbed the back of her neck.

"Not really use to all of this attention....."

Lightning shook her head and smiled. "You'll be in a rough spot if you don't start getting used to it. We're famous after all."

She pointed with her spoon at the dining room table. "Can you set the table? I'll be in with the food in a few minutes. I'll see if I can whip up some extra for the other guests."

Running back and forth with the food, she tried her best to set up as much as she could while trying to cook extra. She was surprised to find her assumption that she didn't have anything in the pantry was wrong. Within minutes she was off, making pasta - not by hoof, unfortunately - and even some fresh vodka sauce. Luna must have heard that she enjoyed cooking. She smiled. Finally some sort of normalcy reared its head and she was pleased.

As Fas set out the plates and silverware, even though some of them don't use them, Stone and Mist came in through the front door, shopping bags dangling from their saddlebags. They set them down in the living area and came into the kitchen. Stone spoke.

"I see the moving carriage is here. I suppose some of our furniture is here?"

Gold grinned and nodded.

"Yep, but I don't really know what to do with it. I can think of some of the places for the decorations, and some of the paintings and photos, but not with the other stuff."

Stone sighed with a wry smile.

"Typical Gold.....okay, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

Gold nodded and spoke up again.

"Oh, and we got some speakers out there. Need to get them set up."

Stone smiled.

"No need to worry, I can set them up myself. You taught me about wiring, remember?"

Gold laughed and nodded.

"All it took was electrocuting me and nearly starting the store on fire to get it right."

Stone blushed and looked away. Gold giggled.

It was still fun, Wally! So, how's the real estate going?"

Stone carried a grim face.

"Still having trouble finding a good enough front. Most are either too small, in a place too crowded by more main brands, or the building's too run down for repairs to be needed. I really need a list from Fancy Pants. We can get that at the party. At least this move gives us a chance to advertise. Hopefully Fleur won't be too swamped by admirers to talk to us."

Gold smiled and nuzzled Stone.

"No need to worry, Fleur always makes time for us."

Stone nodded as she went into the living area and got some shopping bags.

"I took the liberty of rooting through the pantry, marking what we're missing, and then going shopping to get them. I may not have been the most diverse cook, but I know all the important ingredients needed. I'll just leave them out for you, Lightning."

Lightning stopped stirring the pasta long enough to trot over and plant a kiss on Stone's lips. "Thank you, love."

She trotted back to the stove and took the big pot of pasta off to be strained. Carefully she balanced it over the sink and poured the hot water through the strainer, making sure the hoof-holds didn't slip back and drop the hot pan against her belly. The steam rose up into the air, misting over the windows.

"Go on in and eat. I'm making more if Freight and the others would like to stay for some too. If not, we'll have a lot of leftovers."

It had been a rather relaxing dinner, with friendly and hilarious banter courteous of some of the guests. A few zingers and good-timing, and Freight was a stuttering mess while Dolly gave silent laughter. Gold and Poncho were laughing alongside Stone, Fas, Lightning, Mist, and Long Haul.

Gold sat up in her seat, pushing her empty plate away and downing the rest of her water. She gave one last giggle and put the glass down as Freight finally calmed down and started to speak.

"Vell, zhe food vaz deliciouz, Lightning. Ve enjoyed your company, but I am afraid zhat ve muzt be going. Hate to eat and run and all zhat, but duty callz..."

Gold waved a hoof.

"Is all good, right Lightning? Can't keep you from earning your paychecks and all that."

Lightning nodded and smiled. There had only been two times in recent memory when she was able to sit at a table with friends or family and have a good meal. Even now, she realized this was the only second time that everyone was genuinely happy to see one another at the table. She tried to hide a grimace as she forced down the thought.

She stood and gave Freight a nuzzle on both sides of her neck. "It was a real pleasure having you. Maybe next time you can join us without having to carry the whole house beforehoof."

Lightning laughed and shook hooves with the other guests. With a hoof she offered to walk them out. At least, she hoped that was the proper practice.

Freight laughed lightly as she nuzzled back and started for the door, Dolly flashing a smile as well, and Poncho and Long Haul said their goodbyes as well. Freight stopped at the door and spoke to Lightning.

"And no need to be zo formal with uz. You're Gold'z and Stone'z marefriend, zo you're zimply our good friend. No need to be zo....uniform."

She turned and smiled.

"Vhat one of your greatezt traitz iz zhat you broke vhat zhe Noblez had zhought of az standardz. But I zuppose you ztill have to keep up an image. Goodbye, Lightning."

She smiled, turned, and trotted over to the carriage, Poncho and Long Haul pulling it out of the front area with Dolly and Freight in the back. They both waved a final time before they disappeared over the horizon.

Gold was grinning as she floated beside Lightning, gently flapping her wings to stay airborne. She moved to hover in front of Lightning.

"I still find it amazing that Stone and I made so many friends besides only being in Canterlot for for a rather short time. I guess I'm rather...infectious."

Stone grinned as she moved to stand besides Lightning.

"More like you're a leech in reverse. You attach yourself to a host and inject them with doses of your personality and mood until they start to enjoy your presence. Sadly, we're the most susceptible victims and that's why we're dating you."

Gold stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry at Stone.
